Full and Thankful!

After stuffing our bellies, showing our thanks, and perhaps shopped around a little....We are wrapping up our last couple of days of Fall and looking forward to December! We are building a new Bullentin Board display at sewell where our Arts & Crafts projects will be adding new pieces to our display each week. Can you guess our theme before the Project's complete?

New November!

With the holiday season coming up.....we will introducing new electives and new materials into the after school. Santa has recieved my wishlist and since normal after school wont be in session when he officially makes his runs.....we are getting our package early!!

Full of goodies and new activities...Its something I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving :)

Happy Halloween and Dias de los Muetos!!!

With October wrapping up on monday; I'm looking forward to the Parade of costumes at Sewell today. While most are prepping for the night of spooky frights and tasty treats....After School will still be up and runnign doing our own little celebrations this week

Update....We are planning to Open November 11 for Veterans Day....School will be closed that Friday but if enough students sign up then we will be running a Full Day program.

Octobers Here!

As our trip around the whole ends next week...We will be celebrating both Central and South American Culture. We have plenty in store including projects and activities inspired by Halloween, Dia de los muertas, dance, art, and music.

Wake me up...when September Ends....

We are wrapping up September in the the land down under...Australia! Home to the famous Kangeroos and Koalas...we will be learning about the country's first form of artwork as well as other cultural influences on the land.

European Influences and Parent Teacher Conferences!?

This week in the Sabercat After School Program is gonna be very different to our normal schedule.

We are still continuing our trip around the world; this week's stop is Europe.

Drawing influences from Ireland, Netherlands, and England; the elective choices will feel like the daily life people experience "across the pond."

With Parent-Teacher conferences on Sept 14 - Sept 16th, we are going to run after-school with a little bit more of a camp feel...lots of games, all group events, and even water fun!

September Begins Our Journey Around the World!

With the start of a new month brings a Brand New Adventure!
We at the SaberCat Afterschool Program will venture out on our
trip Around The World in 40 Days!

Each Week we will visit each Continent and draw our activities from the
various cultures of the people of that region.

This Week we are starting off on our coldest Continent of Antartica

End of August :(

We've had a very successful month of August with everyone finally getting into the routine of our new after school program.

We are also Preparing for our First "Sign Up" Non-TUSD School Day on
Labor Day, Monday September 5th.
We are offering childcare from the hours of 8am-6pm to those parents
who registered and signed up.

Program will only run that day if there is a sufficient enough amount of
students who signed up and parents will be notified on Sept. 2nd if we
have enough numbers to run a program that day.

Our Full Day Rate is $20 per student for the day plus an optional $5
for food...please bring bag lunch otherwise.

Week 2!

With week one under our belts....we are just getting into the groove of
things here at Sewell's After School Program.
Some changes have been made to the schedules to combat the late storms
of the monsoon season. The Electives and Outdoor time slots have swapped
in order to allow our students a chance outside before any possible
storms are to come in our area.

Parents: Please remember to bring photo ID when picking up your children
Staff will not release your child without it!
Also Pickup is only through the main entrance
the door to the cafeteria IS NOT an entrance/exit.

First Day of After School!!!

I know that after a very exciting day of meeting your teachers and new classmates on the first day is kinda a lot to take in....But then, you'll have a blast during After School!!!!

Monday and the following days this week will just focus on all of the staff, parents, and students getting to know each other and having fun.
This week's lessons and activities will give everyone a taste of what the year has in store as well as allowing everybody to interact and get to know
one another in the program

Registration For After School Is Going Strong!!

We are happy to see the tremendous amounts of Interest from students and Parents about the new after school program!

Today August 12th, Sewell will be open from about 9am-3pm, parents and students please come meet us in the Multi-Purpose Room during your visits to your teachers today!

REMEMBER: Your child cannot start the program unless your registration is fully completed. That includes:
Registration Form
Emergency Information and Immunization Card (Blue Card)
A copy of your child's Immunization Records
Media Release Form
Blog Release Form
Signed Parent/Student Handbook Agreement

Phone calls will be made starting today to those who have turned in some paperwork and will be notified if your child's registration is incomplete due to missing forms, information, or release forms

of the after-school early registration discount special!

You can still register your child before school starts between the hours of 1-6pm
on weekdays starting Weds August 3rd till August 12th if you haven't done so tonight.

Monday is Orientation Night!!

Welcome Sewell Students and Families!

Monday August 1st @ 6pm sharp will be our orientation night for both of Sewell's childcare programs. Come on in to register your child/children for the After-School and Preschool programs and meet the staff as well as address any questions or other inquiries you may have.

The after-school program is having a discounted special if you register during Orientation Night! Pay your Non-Refundable Registration Fee ($50 for single child and $75 for families) and 2 week's worth of tuition to receive a free week in the Month of August.

Registration Special: Pay for 2 Weeks and Get 1 Free
(For the dates of August 15th - Sept 2 ONLY!)

The daily drop in rate is $12 per student regardless of how many....Each student will be allotted a maximum of 5 "drop-ins" for the school year before parents have to pay the registration fee accordingly.

Welcome to the Sewell After School Blog!!!

We are very excited to introduce our new blog! With this new tool, both Sewell staff and our families will have prompt notifications and updates of whats going on in the new after school program.

Remember our Orientation Night is Friday, August 1st in the Sewell multi-purpose room at 6pm sharp. We will have a briefing on whats to come of our new program, a Q&A to answer all concerns, as well as some sample "Electives" offered in our After School Program!

You can also register your children for both the Preschool and After School Programs on orientation night! Along with the filled out registration form and last page of the Parent/Student Handbook,(Both found on the left column of this site) the non-refundable registration fee of $50 ($75 for families) is due upon registration; please make checks and money orders out to "Sewell Community Program."
